1971 Harmony H1264 "Jet Set" Sovereign Jumbo Flattop

Offering up my incredibly cool Harmony H1264 "Jet Set" Sovereign Jumbo Flattop Acoustic. No doubt, she's a real head turner. They're like the "tuxedo" version of the venerable H1265 model and its giant headstock & pickguards. These guitars are really rather hard to find (they're even more scarce than the H1265 models which are always in high demand). And worth mentioning that unlike the H1265 (which is a glorified H1260), these have solid birch back and sides rather than mahogany. That gives them a little more punch and snap, I think -- a little more of a maple back/sides sound vs. the sing-song air of mahogany. Comfortably balanced at around 4 lbs 12 oz. Solid Spruce Top with Ladder bracing. Mahogany neck with full-feeling medium D-neck shape and 1 3/4" nut width, brazilian rosewood fingerboard and mother of pearl block inlays, original rosewood bridge and original bridge pins, a 25 1/8" scale length, original cream-tipped tuning machines (1 replacement), and original multi-ply black pickguards. It's a 1971 vintage, and with that comes a little bit of character as any older guitar does. * The G-string tuning machine was replaced with a pretty great quality replacement due to the original having a cracked button tip. The original tuning machine is included and still functions,but needs a replacement button. Original G-string ferrule included as well. * Non-original saddle, has been replaced * Scattered peeling of the black veneer * Hairline crack at the upper bout of the body (the side where the arm rests.) * Decent playing action, but not perfect and I don't have an adjustment wrench that fits the truss rod (it's Gibson style, but smaller). A bit of neck work could be required, but not as much as you might think for these older Harmony guitars That's it! Try before you buy is not only welcomed, but encouraged.
